Robo Blocks Terms and Conditions
Article 1 (Definitions)
In Robo Blocks Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms and Conditions"), the following words and terms shall have the meanings specified forth below.
- "Tool" refers to the programming tool under the name "Robo Blocks" by SoftBank Robotics Corp. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), that purposes to create, post, and view an original Pepper program (hereinafter referred to as "the Program") through Pepper, computer, tablet device and network servers.
- "User" refers to the person who uses the Tool on Pepper, computer or tablet device.
- "Terms and Conditions" refers to a contract established between the Company and User based on these Terms and Conditions.
- "Tool Data" refers to any data created by Users while using this Tool, such as the Program created by the User and registered User information.
Article 2 (Agreement to Terms and Conditions)
- All Users shall use the Tool in accordance with the terms stated in the Terms and Conditions. When the User commences the Tool, it shall be deemed to have accepted the Terms and Conditions and will bind the User to the obligations contained herein. This contract shall be concluded when the User commences the usage of the Tool. Minors will use the Tool with the consent of the legal guardian.
- The Company will assign a keyword (hereinafter referred to as "the keyword") to the administrator, among the Users, who have concluded this contract. The User shall manage the keyword (limited to the administrator), various room names and various passwords determined by the User confidentially; not to be known to a third party. The Company shall regard the use of the Tool with the keyword, various room names and various passwords determined by the User, and the one utilizing the keyword, various room names, and various passwords as the User.
- If willing to terminate this contract, the User shall apply for withdrawal in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the Company and shall stop using the Tool. Upon the termination of this contract, the Company will delete all the Tool Data of the User.
- If the User fails to comply with this contract, the Company will terminate this contract without prior notice and will delete all the Tool Data of the User.
Article 3 (Copyright Ownership)
The copyright and other intellectual property rights related to this Tool (hereinafter referred to as "Copyright etc.") belong to the Company or a third party who holds the ownership of this Copyright etc. We provide this Tool to Users and guarantee that we have the right to license the Tool. This Terms and Conditions does not mean that the Copyright etc. or any other right pertaining to this Tool is transferred to the User.
Article 4 (Grant of License)
- The Company shall license the Tool to Users specified forth with the Terms and Conditions.
- In the dispute between the User and a third party due to the use of the Tool by the User, if it may or infringe the right of the third party, the User must be responsible and shall resolve this at all expense.
Article 5 (Operation of the Tool)
- Please refer to the Company’s "Robo Blocks" service page for details on supported OS, browsers, displays, etc. of the Tool. However, Users shall agree in advance that the explanation and images on the page may differ from the actual Tool depending on the timing of the Tool's update.
- The Company may change the specifications of the Tool or update the version of this Tool without prior notice to the Users.
Article 6 (Interruption of the Tool)
- The Company may suspend the provision of, full or partial, of this Tool if
any of the following is true:
- In case of natural disasters or other emergency issues have occurred or is anticipated to occur.
- In an event of performing regular or urgent maintenance of equipment installed or managed by the Company in relation to this Tool.
- In the event of an abnormality, malfunction, failure or any other reason why the Tool cannot be provided to Users.
- In any other cases where Company deems its necessity.
- If the Company judges that the User has violated this contract, the Company may suspend the provision, full or partial, of the Tool.
- The Company shall not be liable for any damage caused by the preceding two paragraphs within the act of suspending or interrupting the use of the Tool.
Article 7 (Service Charge)
This Tool shall be free of charge. However, Users must pay, at its own expenses, for the Pepper robot, computer or tablet device and communication fee(s) required to operate these devices.
Article 8 (Disclaimer)
- The Company, whether expressed or implied, will not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, certainty, usability, trustworthiness, appropriateness, relevance, etc. of this Tool.
- The Company is to provide the Tool as is, and will not guarantee, imply, or clarify intellectual properties, non-infringement, merchantability, integrity, availability, and suitability for a specific purpose amongst other rights of third parties.
- If there was any trouble regarding the Pepper, computer or tablet device(s) with the Tool installed, being granted or resold between Users and a third party, the trouble shall be solved between both parties and the Company shall not bear any responsibility.
Article 9 (Indemnity)
- In no event shall the Company be liable for any damages caused by any defects of the Tool and/or usage of the Tool whatsoever (includes general, special, indirect or consequential damages whatsoever, regardless of the Company's foreseeability or possibilities, but not limited to). However, this does not apply if the loss arose from the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- If the Company was to suffer from any damage from User(s) violating this contract, the Company will be able to claim for the damage and the User shall compensate for this damage.
Article 10 (Personal Information)
- Personal information provided by Users is used for the following
purposes:
- Improvement in convenience and quality, research and development of new services and various marketing surveys and analysis for the Tool.
- In order to respond against inquiries from Users, providing proper guidance on procedures and information on this Tool.
- To prevent the misuse of the Tool.
- Support for troubleshooting, bug fixes and software updates of this Tool.
- Other accompanying services and tasks requiring to provide this Tool.
- The Company will handle User's personal information in accordance with
the Terms and Conditions and the privacy policy separately defined by the
Company. The latest version of the privacy policy will be posted on the
following website.

Article 11 (Restriction of Use)
- Users must not engage in any activities that will or may fall under the
following prohibitions when using this Tool:
- Acts of duplicating this Tool to use for other purposes than specified in Article 1 (a), and of installing or using only a part of this Tool
- Acts of adapting, altering, or reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling this Tool
- Acts of using information acquired through violating public order and morals, or other unfair purposes
- Acts of discrimination or defamation of an individual or group, or damage to honor/credit
- Acts of infringing intellectual property rights of the Company or a third party (including but not limited to patent rights, trademark rights or copyrights) and other rights
- Acts of disseminating false information, or falsify or cease and desist information without proper authority
- Acts of using this Tool as providing it to a third party for commercial purposes or preparing to do so instead of personal use
- Criminal acts or acts to promote the action
- Acts of causing disadvantage to the Company or a third party
- Acts of unauthorized access to the Company's facilities, giving undue burden, disabling the Company's facilities, and any other activities that impede the provision and operation of this Tool
- Acts of using the Tool with third party's information (including but not limited to the keyword, various room names, and various passwords determined by Users) without due authorization.
- Acts of talking and/or input (including but not limited to save or upload of
picture files and voice files) to the Tool including following information;
- Personal information (e.g., name (including nickname which may specify an individual name), address and birthday)
- Confidential information (e.g., undisclosed information and information which is prohibited to open to the public)
- Other actions that are deemed by the Company to be inappropriate based on rational reasons.
- If the Company judges the User has or may have taken any action violating the Restriction of Use, the Company may immediately delete the Tool Data and/or terminate this Contract.
Article 12 (Consent)
- The User may grant any rights to use the Tool to the third party without approval of the Company. Provided, in case the User grants the rights, the user shall make the third party observe the clauses herein and the User shall be liable for any violation of the third party.
- The Company sets the certain limit for communication with the Tool. Provided, in case the User separately executes contracts with the companies which provide certain services using AI (e.g. Generative AI) (hereinafter referred to as the "AI Provider") regarding the limit, the said limit is not applied.
- Logs stored on the servers in the Company are used for the purpose of analyzing responsiveness against the Tool and improving our Company's services. The Company doesn't provide them for any third party other than the Company.
- The Tool is equipped with Generative AI developed by AI Provider. The User shall comply with its related terms of AI Provider as well.
Article 13 (Miscellaneous Provisions)
- The User shall not assign, transfer, grant any of its rights and obligations provided hereunder this Terms and Conditions to any third party.
- The Company may change this Terms and Conditions with notifying the User via the Company website, etc. and other methods prescribed by the Company. In that case, the conditions upon provision of this Tool shall be in accordance with the modified terms.
- This Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Japan. Conflicts that arise from the service or between Users and the Company, The Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive court of jurisdiction in the first instance.
